Introduction

Hey Everyone!

My name is Shayna, and this is my first time blogging or anything, so it is going to take some time to get use to this. I am a senior at the University of Rhode Island and will be graduating in May, with a Communication Studies degree. This past summer and fall semester, I went abroad to Israel and the experience was life changing. The culture I adapted to, the scenery I was exposed to, and the people that I was fortunate enough to meet, completely changed my outlook on life and the person I want to be. After graduation, I have a summer job already in place and then I am seriously looking into returning to Israel in the fall, for another few months, participating in an internship. I hope it all works because I miss Israel every day. Being from Rhode Island my entire life, it has made me a sheltered young woman but, being across the country was unbelievable and I now know that I am not done yet with experiencing new adventures.

  1. Hi Shayna, my name is Joe, and I attend Purdue Universty North-Central in NW Indiana. Your trip to Israel sounds like a very humbling experience. I knew a family that moved to the US from Israel when I lived in Texas. I thought it was really neat to be able to take in the different customs and culture that was alive in their household. I wish you luck on your internship, as I know it is something that you would really like to do!

  2. It sounds like your trip was really fun and exciting. It's great to have the opportunity to get out of the country even for just a little bit. I think its really good that you were fortunate enough to be able to experience Israel as many people these days would not even be able to travel out of state. Hope your summer trip goes well!
